In the previous chapter, we saw that Tsurugi and Maru started a duel both for protecting their loved ones and Tsurugi almost defeated maru but at the last panels we saw Maru activating his cursed technique and in today's article we will see the further advancements of this battle
Chapter Summary
The chapter begins with a flashback to Tsurugi’s childhood. Tsurugi’s father disappeared shortly after his sister Yuka was born. Curious and troubled by this mystery, Tsurugi tried to uncover the truth behind his father’s disappearance. However, his grandparents and mother were unwilling to talk about him, leaving Tsurugi with very little information.
From what he could gather, his father was a serious and diligent man who was deeply worried about the weakening strength of his generation compared to the previous one. He feared that if another large-scale disaster like the Culling Game were to occur, Japan would not be able to withstand it. While searching for solutions, a Gojo family maid once witnessed him speaking with a scarred, hooded man, Yuji Itadori. The man cryptically told him, “It doesn’t matter.” Tsurugi chose not to reveal this story to Yuka, though he is aware that she is intelligent enough to have possibly uncovered the truth on her own. After the flashback ends, the chapter returns to the present battle between Tsurugi and Maru.
Although Tsurugi dominated the fight in the previous chapter, Maru activates his power here and quickly turns the tide. He smashes Tsurugi into a wall and declares himself the winner. Refusing to give up, Tsurugi pushes himself further when the ring around his neck suddenly begins to glow.
A mysterious figure appears and urges him to accept her power so they can win. This figure is revealed to be Rika, the curse once bound to Yuta Okkotsu, Tsurugi’s grandfather. Rika is connected to the ring Yuta left behind, which Tsurugi now wears. Honoring Yuta’s wish, Rika chooses to help Tsurugi. The two fuse together, forming a powerful merged state.
With this fusion, Tsurugi gains immense physical strength along with the cursed energy he never possessed before. Their combined power allows them to land a devastating blow on Maru, sending him flying. The chapter ends with Tsurugi and Rika’s fused form exchanging sharp words, setting the stage for what comes next.
1. Yuji is shown interacting with Yuta's son. This suggests that Yuji may be aware of the details regarding what happened to Yuta's son and his current whereabouts.
2. Rika has promised Yuta to protect his grandchildren and now appears to help Tsurugi
Fan Theories & Predictions
Senpai believes the next chapter will focus heavily on a major battle between Tsurugi’s fused form and Maru. There is also a strong chance that we may see a glimpse of a confrontation between Yuka and Dabura. Additionally, Senpai expects Yuji Itadori to finally make his appearance in the coming chapters, potentially stepping in to stop the ongoing conflicts and prevent major loss of life

Tsurugi’s enhanced physical power, paired with Rika’s massive cursed energy, creates a deadly combination. With Rika now fully involved, the upcoming chapters are sure to become even more intense and exciting.
Conclusion
We saw that Rika can be summoned by Tsurugi on Yuta's wish, and this could be a great turning point in the story, as now even Yuka can summon Rika
