Hakari Kinji: Full Story, Powers, Cursed Technique Explained

Who is Hakari Kinji In Jujustu Kaisen 

Hakari is a former student of Jujutsu High who was expelled for breaking the rules by clashing with one of his seniors. While he is suspended, he now runs a Gachinko Fight Club where sorcerers participate in hand-to-hand combat for Money.

Hakari was a student at Jujutsu High who was an exceptional sorcerer and one of the few students considered to be on a similar level, on par with Gojo Satoru, as Goji himself said. Hakari is a self-absorbed individual who cares little for the rules and regulations of Jujutsu High. Yuta Okkotsu describes him as moody, and most students around his age consider him a good-for-nothing. Hakari's personality is that of a self-centered individual, and he is said to be moody. 

He enjoys seeing people drown in their passions, and he considers this as their Fever Burning hot. He himself has a fever of manipulating others by using their fevers through his fight club. According to Kiara Hoshi, Hakari’s fever is at its peak when he works as a jujutsu sorcerer. Due to his self-centered and rebellious attitude and unconventional Cursed Technique, the higher-ups in the Jujutsu High did not liked him. 

Hakari is willing to take advantage of the public revelation of curses to promote his fight club, aiming to have it officially recognized by jujutsu authorities. Hakari only respects and supports people who have a Genuine fever. Upon Meeting Yuji, he was not that impressed in the early meeting as he thought that Yuji had a weak fever, as Yuji described himself as a cog in the system. 

But after fighting Yuji, he understood that Yuji indeed has a burning fever and decided to help him and his allies as he believed that fever lever lies. Despite his Brash attitude and rebellious nature, Hakari deeply cares about the people who supported him, as we saw that he was sad when he heard about Gojo getting sealed and the death of Yaga.

Hakari did not liked Megumi because he considered him a weak sorcerer and was annoyed at Megumi, but when he learned the fact that Megumi had become the head of the Zenin Clan, he immediately softened his attitude and proposed to become allies in the hope of securing the influence of the Big Three families for his fight club. Hakari often appears as selfish and rude, but he deeply respects people with great passions.

What are Hakari’s power and Technique:

Hakari’s Power is based on Superhuman Combat Skill, and his Cursed technique is very unique, which is a complex Gamble-themed Power.

Master hand-to-hand combatant:

Hakari is a master hand-to-hand combatant who has mastered the art of close combat. He has several moves in his arsenal. He can easily overpower strong sorcerers with just his physical power and can dent a shipping container with a single punch. This great Superhuman strenght when combined with his domain's unlimited Cursed energy duration, Hakari becomes a force which cannot be stopped.

Curse energy traits:

Hakari’s cursed energy is considered to be rough compared to others. Gojo described his curse energy to be unusally Sharp, and that even a normal punch from him will give a sharp pain to his opponent. When Yuji was hit by Hakari’s punch, he compared it to being hit with a serrated bat, and when Charles was hit with Hakari’s punch, he compared it to being hit with sandpaper.

Innate Cursed Technique: Private Pure Love Train:

Hakari's innate technique is unique. It's a pachinko-themed ability (a Japanese slot machine) called Private Pure Love Train, named after a romance manga. The technique's full effect only activates inside Hakari's Domain. Outside his Domain, he can summon pachinko "visual indicators like shutter doors and balls as attacks or distractions.

Strengths: Fastest domain activation (under 0.2 seconds), unlimited cursed energy during jackpot, auto-healing (surpassed Gojo and Sukuna), and he can chain jackpots indefinitely.

Weaknesses: Complex mechanics, relies on probability, vulnerable during non-jackpot periods.

Combat Impact: His Domain makes Hakari nearly unkillable during jackpot streaks, and it outlasts most opponents.

What are Hakari Kinji’s notable battles?

Hakari vs Yuji:

Hakari fought Yuji as a test for him to see if his fever was genuine or not. Hakari easily defeated Yuji while holding back and was impressed with him at the end of the fight, deciding to help him and his allies in the Culling Game.

Hakari vs Kashimo:

Kashimo is an ancient sorcerer who was reincarnated by Kenjaku for participating in the culling game, and he defeated dozens of sorcerers in the game. Hakari fought Kashimo to a standstill. Kashimo was a powerful opponent, but Hakari effectively used his Domain and hit many jackpots. Hakari also showed his great battle intelligence and Instincts. Despite Kashimo being considered one of the strongest in the Culling game, Hakari defeated him and earned all of his points as well as his respect.

Hakari vs Charles:

Hakari fought Charles Bernard, a player in the Culling Game who had the power of Clairvoyance( Seeing the future). Despite Charles predicting Hakari’s moves, he was still overwhelming him with his strength. Charles described Hakari’s punches as like sandpaper and admitted that if he couldn’t see the future, he would have been defeated at the start of the battle by Hakari’s brute strength. Despite being an enemy, Hakari respected Charles’s Passion and decided to motivate him. In the end, he defeated Charles and then proceeded to save Panda.

Hakari vs Uraume:

After Goji Satoru was killed by Sukuna, all of the Jujutsu sorcerers present on the scene engaged in battle with sukuna and Hakari started a fight with Uraume. Uraume was an ally of Sukuna, who was very powerful with the innate technique of Ice Formation. Despite Uraume’s exceptional powers, Hakari was able to end up with a draw against him. Uraume even stated that Hakari’s Reversed Cursed Energy alone can surpass the RCT of Sukuna and Gojo.
